Candles

What are Scent Notes?

A candle has three types of notes, a top note, a middle note, and a base note.  A top note is the first scent you ‘experience’ when the candle first burns or when you smell it when it is unlit. 

Then, the middle notes, which can also be called heart notes, are the scent results after the top note has faded a little.  This scent that you experience consists of the middle notes of the candle fragrance.

Finally, you then have the base note, which are the scents that reveal itself as the candle is lit and burning at a full melt pool (top layer is melted).  It can take up to an hour or so for this to occur.  So what is the true and actual scent of the candle?  That would be the mix of the middle notes and base notes.

 How long will my candle last?

·   Candles that are 10-12oz will last around ~60-80+ hours and are well suited for larger, open areas in your home or studio

·   Candles that are 8-9oz will last ~35+ hours and are well suited for small-medium sized areas in your home or studio

·   Candles that are 5-7oz will last ~25-40+ hours and are great for bathrooms, bedside tables and smaller, cozy spots in your home

Why wood wicks?

Great question, not only do they provide a subtle crackling sound, but they are also organic, non-toxic and eco-friendly sourced from FSC-certified mills and made in USA.

Can I reuse my container? How?

YES!  A great way to make this happen is easy:

1. Place your container in the freezer

2. Remove the container after a few hours and dislodge the wax

3. Rock the wick holder back and forth to wiggle free from the container (this takes a little elbow grease)

4. Clean the container with your favorite cleaning product

Here are some ways we love to reuse our containers: Refill with another candle from UGC, Desk or Office Accessory, Pencil holder, mini planter (make a drainage system inside or drill a hole).

Wax Melts

What are wax melts?

Wax melts are basically wickless candles! Just put a wax cube or two into a wax warmer, and as the wax melts and releases the scent into the air, your room or house will smell fantastic within about 20 minutes.

How many cubes of wax should you use in a warmer?

Start with one cube and work from there. One cube is usually enough, although some people use two cubes. Two cubes may last a little longer than one cube, since the wax pool is deeper so it doesn't burn off as quickly. But too many cubes can actually hinder the scent, as it makes the wax pool too deep so that the middle of the wax doesn't get hot enough.

Can I mix different scents?

Of course, experimenting with scent blending can be a lot of fun. You'll find that if you mix 1 cube of each, often one scent will overthrow the other, so you might have to change the proportions for certain scents. And sometimes more than one scent in the same warmer can cancel each other out, so putting the two cubes in different warmers seems to work better.

Room Sprays

How do I use a Room mist?

Please shake your room mist well before use for maximum fragrance. As this product is oil based, we recommend spraying in various directions in the center of the room, away from hard surfaces. Do not spray directly on furniture or soft surfaces.

Are your products safe to use around pets?

Although we use fragrance oil in our products, instead of essential oils, we also have a furry friend who isn't affected by our products, but we understand that some pets may have allergies. How quickly will my order ship?

Most orders are shipped out in 2-3 business days. Should an item go out of stock, you will be contacted for replacement or refund options. All tracking numbers will be included in the shipping confirmation email you receive at the time of the package being shipped out.

Do you offer refund?

Currently, we do not offer refunds.

General Candle Care

  • Before

    Trim the wick to ¼” before lighting every time! This makes all the difference in the longevity and clean burning of your candle. A long wick burns much too hot and will both use up the candle more quickly and create soot.  Grab a wick trimmer or use nail clippers to get a close cut!

  • During

    Burn your candle for up to 3-4 hours at a time. It’s very important that the first time you use the candle to burn it long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the container.  This prevents the wax from building up and possibly tunneling during future use.

  • After

    If the flame seems high or the container is too hot during burning, simply extinguish the flame, let it cool down, trim the wick and restart!

  • Do

    Never leave a candle burning unattended or within reach of a draft, pets, or small children.
